ALL BEGAN
Over 8 years ago, I was stuck in a low-paying, unfulfilling job, sinking into depression and thinking, "God, there’s got to be more."

Back in 2016, I found myself in a familiar place that some of us know all too well — stuck in a monotonous routine of a low-paying job while juggling school, struggling with depression, and nursing the wounds of a once toxic relationship. It felt like life was a continuous loop of gray days and unmet potential, leaving me to wonder if the promises of a brighter future were just out of reach.
One particularly tough night, alone in my room, I found myself at a breaking point. With tears streaming down my face, I began crying out for more. “Lord, you promised good plans for me,” I sobbed, “but where is the light?” It was one of those deep, soul-searching cries that felt like it could either break me or forge a new path forward.
One day, the turning point came unexpectedly while at work. A Jim Rohn video played in the background, and one line cut through the noise: "If you want your life to change, you have to change." Suddenly, it clicked. The realization dawned on me that I wasn't just trapped by circumstances; I was staying in them. That was the moment everything changed.
I realized that the change I so desperately needed was not around me, but within me. With a renewed sense of purpose, I decided it was time to stop being passive about my life. I was ready to take ownership of my God-given destiny.
Sometimes, to move into your next phase, you need to recognize those moments when God is testing your courage to leap into the greater things He has planned for you. Challenges can often be hidden opportunities.

MY CREATIVE AWAKENING
Shortly after that pivotal epiphany, a surprising opportunity came my way through my sister. She had a client who needed a logo, and I jumped at the chance to step in. That moment sparked a deep passion for design within me. I threw myself into learning everything I could, from logos to graphics, and especially websites, which became my favorite. I was obsessed with this newly discovered gift.
My interest didn’t stop at just aesthetics—I was fascinated by customer psychology and the art of persuasion in marketing. The combination of marketing and design was the perfect blend for me, and from there, JOA Creative Lab took shape.
Fast forward to today, and because of my steadfast "Yes" to God's call, I've been able to help thousands of women launch their brands online, whether through my template shop or by offering bespoke 1:1 services. It's remarkable how taking control of your destiny can completely transform your life. This journey has been about more than just building a business—it's been about empowering transformations and bringing visions to life, one design at a time.
